Courthouse Galleries - Holiday Decorations

I was driving through Olde Towne Portsmouth last night looking at all of the beautiful light displays up and down High Street and had to stop and take a photo of the outside of the Courthouse Galleries Museum, festively decorated for the season. They are currently presenting the Winter Wonderland - The Coleman Collection, a tradition that has been going on for decades, although not always at the Courthouse Galleries. I can't wait to go inside and see the rest of the Winter Wonderland display!

Olde Towne Holiday Music Festival

The annual Olde Towne Holiday Music Festival occurred this past Saturday in, as the name suggests, Olde Towne Portsmouth. There were Christmas Carolers, musical performances, refreshments and fun activities for the kids as well. The weather was somewhat mild, but for the chilly times, Portsmouth Fire Department firemen were at various Olde Towne locations tending to bonfires, while even roasting marshmallows for the kids to enjoy with the festivities. The Olde Towne Santa arrived for the festival via the Elizabeth River ferry to greet the children, and parents had the opportunity to take photos of their little ones with Jolly Old Saint Nick -- even a couple of pups got to put in their requests with Santa!

It Snowed Today!

Even though it was brief, it snowed today in Portsmouth (and probably other parts of Hampton Roads)! It only lasted for about 15 minutes outside of my house, and then eh sun came out BRIGHT, but it was enough for me to get a couple of shots to tide me through what will probably be another 5 years before we see snow again, LOL!
